The Mayor’s Walk on Water — Saturday, March 28
Saturday, 9:00 a.m.
About 3 Miles, Moderate Pace
Water: the topic is on everyone’s mind as California enters another year of drought. Unlike most of the cities around the Santa Rosa Plain, the City of Sebastopol obtains all its high quality drinking water from four wells located throughout the city that pump groundwater from depths between 530 to 690 feet below ground level. Led by Sebastopol Mayor Patrick Slayter, this walk is an opportunity to visit these important facilities and learn about the system, including recent upgrades, from Sebastopol’s Public Works Director, Rich Emig.
Meet in the Plaza at 9:00 for a casual paced walk of about three miles.
Leader: Patrick Slayter, Mayor
