Walk leader Sarah Gurney reports:
Forty people walked in between courses to three different venues on Thursday, September 13, 2013, for The Last Dinner Walk. The three-hour long, three-course meal, including wine donated by Hook & Ladder, was organized by our local iWALKsebastopol committee and led by City Council Member SarahGurney.
Meeting at The Plaza, walkers crossed the parking lot to Bastoni [see photo] for appetizers on the deck overlooking downtown Sebastopol. Five different entree choices awaited participants at Woodruff’s Cafe, a thirty-minute stroll south. ZIX Cookies provided a boxed dessert, enjoyed by flashlight at the Laguna Uplands [east of the Hospital between Palm and Walker] and hosted by docent Anita Smith. Proprietors Glenn and Franny Minervini-Zick will donate their proceeds to the Laguna Foundation.
The event pumped $1,600 into our local economy in one fun night, including more restaurants than involved that evening. Door prized included gift certificates to the three founding venues to thank them for their confidence in the dinner program from its start last year: Peter Lowell’s; Starlight, and Patisserie Angelica.
